Spelling Bee

So last night I was watching the National spelling Bee (ya, I am a big fan - dorky, I know) Anyway, those kids are amazing! Well you have to watch this clip. I laughed so hard I was crying. I had to call K and tell him at work. But I couldn't stop laughing long enough to get the whole story out. Just watch and listen really good.
SPELLING BEE

I kinda feel bad for the kid,(though he did win the Spelling bee championship) he had no idea why everyone was laughing. In an interview afterwards he says he was worried because there is so many ways that numbnut could be spelled.

I hope this made you laugh!

Busted!

Little K loves to pull out the wipes. I usually catch her before she gets more than 2 out, but today she saw an opportunity! Then when I walk in the room - she gives me this face, followed by a huge smile and giggles. She was so proud of herself. I cant help but love it!

Pass it on!

Bloom Albums

Ok, I know I just posted but I wanted to share these great chipboad albums. For my birthday my mother-in-law got me a chipboard album from the company "heart of texas studio" She got me the "NAVY" book and I am going to be doing that book for my little sis who is in the navy. If you like to scrapbook (or even if you dont) you should check out their website at heartoftexasstudio.com or their blog at http://just-daily-life.blogspot.com/

Once I get mine done, I will put pictures on here. I am super excited to do it!

Homemade Orange Chicken

The other day I made orange chicken. It Turned out really good, though not spicy at all. I need to figure out what to add to make it spicy. I didn't use a recipe, I just made it up and it turned out pretty good. Usually when I make stuff up K doesn't like it, but this he did. I have been watching Rachel Ray and have been inspired to cook more. I don't love her talk show part of the show, but the cooking part is great. She makes things that are food we would actually have the ingredients for and want to eat.

Memorial day Fun!

I thought that we would celebrate memorial day by doing something memorialish - so we went to the Rock Island Arsenal and the national cemetery. There was a Celebration there with gun solute and all. The cemetery reminds me of Arlington. There are headstones everywhere, all with Flags on them. It was a great time and the weather was actually nice all day. Little K had a first - It was her first time in grass. She was a little unsure and wanted to be picked up immediately, but after a little bit she started to like it and of course ate a few blades.
We then went to a good friends house for a BBQ. We blew up this little pool for the kids and it was a BLAST. Little K and her buddy Calvin were just loving it! The food was great, the company was wonderful and the weather nice (though humid- it will take some getting use to).
Overall I would rate it a 10! Fun Memorial day!

It is finally SPRING!

Today was a beautiful day and so we decided to take Little K on a bike ride. It was our first ride with her and the new bike trailer (thanks Mom!) At first Little K was so excited to go. She was happy and giggling. Then we started the ride and she was holding on for dear life. Once the shock factor wore off, she was having fun (for about 3 mins) and then the tears started. She was not enjoying it at all. But once we got the park, we adjusted her seat so that she was able to sit up more comfortably, she was able to fall asleep in no time. We didn't go that far but it was so nice to get out of the house and enjoy the beautiful day!
