So much to blog about... so little time

The other day I felt brave and so I pulled out the paper and washable markers and let Little K go to town! She had so much fun. I couldn't beleive how well she did with the markers. She created some masterpeices!

She was very concerned when she got the ink on her hands and tried very hard to lick it off.

She hasn't mastered two at once

For her Birthday, Little K got an Elmo from mom and dad. She LOVES her Elmo. (it is a tickle me elmo) She brings it to me every morning to turn it on so she can tickle him. She laughs with him, claps her hands and stomps her feet with him. So cute!

Future soccer star (or maybe not)

On Saturday, Little K and I headed out to the park for a bit to let K study. We brought her ball as she is learning how to kick and throw it.

Placing the ball just right to kick it

She concentrates very hard to kick the ball

She hears a dog and abandons the ball. Dogs are way more fun!

My helper

Little K LOVES to help with the laundry. And by helping, I mean unfolding all the clothes I just folded and try to get them all on her body.

She is VERY pleased with her work! (can you say CHEEEEESSE!)

Tantrums at one?

Of course, I just bragged that my one year old was the best ever and today it all changed. She literally threw a tantrum. She was stomping her feet, smacking the couch, sitting down and thrashing her legs, growling, and crying. She was so tired and so frustrated. I had a hard time not laughing, so it was a good thing dad was around to put a stop to it. He put her in time out for 20 seconds and that stopped it fast. She HATES time out. But I wasn't expecting these for another year, or at least 6 months. Hopefully this was a rare thing and it wont happen again for a while.

Our Trip

Little K and I just returned from Philadelphia. We went out there for a week to visit my sister and her kids. Well more to babysit her kids. She was at a conference, and was out of town. We had a BLAST. I was super nervous about the traveling. The flight out there was flawless. Little K fell asleep at take off on the first flight and slept the whole way. The second flight was great too. THEN the way home was an adventure. I am good at making short stories long so here it goes!

We arrive at the airport exactly 60 mins prior to our departure time. I check in and they inform me that the flight is delayed 30 minutes.
We can handle 30 more minutes.
We get to our gate and K is being so great. We board the plane and still she is being awesome. Everyone around us is super nice and she is putting on a "cuteness show" where the more they say she is cute, the more she puts on a show. Well we get lucky and have an empty seat between us and a older gentleman. As we start taxiing down to the run way, we STOP! The captain gets on the PA and says there is a ground hold at O'Hare because of flooding and rain so we have to park and he would know more in 30 mins. AHH, I start to panic but try really hard to not freak out about a 1 year old busy body sitting still for more than 30 mins more than the nearly 2 hour flight. 30 mins pass and the captain comes out of the cockpit (never a good sign) He says "I want to say this to your face, we are scheduled to take off at 12:26. It currently was only 10:30. OH MY HECK! We were to sit on this plane for 2 MORE hours.
It was a miracle from above, but K did SO awesome. The man sitting next to us loved her and the played the whole time. It was great. BUT the best part of the flight was when the captain said to prepare for landing. I set K in the seat next to me and start cleaning up her toys and books. If asten my seatbelt and reach over to put her on my lap and see her eyes flap shut and her head drop. She crashed. I couldn't help but bust up laughing. She then slumps over and her head lands on her new friends lap. She was OUT COLD. We land and we get off the plane and I put her in the stroller and she doesn't even open her eyes at all. We missed our connecting flight and had to wait in a line a mile long to get a new flight home. Well we get a flight scheduled for 2:30 and it was delayed to 3:00. We eat and go to our gate and before long it was delayed to 4:10. Well we didn't even board the plane till 4:15. We Finaly get home a 6:00pm. We should have been home at 1:00pm. It was a very very long day. But all things considered, Little K did AWESOME. The best 1 year old!

I will have pictures to post soon. Just no time now

Birthday Party

I first want to thank everyone who came to Little K's party. Especially my mom and little sis. My mom came from Arizona to spend the weekend with us. And my little sis was able to get the weekend off from Navy school up in Chicago. It was soo great to have them here. I can't believe how much they spoiled my little girl! The party was fun. The pictures say it all. There are a lot of pictures because it was a busy weekend of FUN!
Birthday cakes, top for Little K, bottom for everyone else. (it is a cow)

Lighting the candle. She is very unsure of what is going on.
Dad is trying to get her to blow out the candle. (she didn't- though she tried)

After giving her the WHOLE cake, she had to get reassurance from mom that is was OK to touch it. She was not as excited about it as I though she would be.

After some coaxing by her Aunt June, she finally dug in

And of course, she wanted to share!
