BEST HUBBY

I wanted to take a second and tell my hubby how great he is.
Friday night we had planned on going out to eat (something we never do) I was pretty excited. As I was getting Little K dressed I realized she had a fever. Immediatly she started whinning and wanting to be held (which she never does). We decided not to eat out and just picked up a movie to veg at home. That night she was up every 2 hours, crying and wanting to cuddle. After I did the first 3 times, K got up with her. He came in and said that she is hungry and they were going to eat. (it was 3am).
In the morning I get up and find the kitchen clean! He had cleaned the kitchen at 3am! Plus he was up with her playing (since she didnt want to sleep).
He is the greatest, always doing little things like that. I adore him and everyday have to remind myself how luck I am to have a great husband!

Go Go Go!

It is very cold today. No wait, that is a huge understatement. It is sub zero, freeze the snot in your nose in 3 seconds cold today. ( I know that because it happened!) It is clearly too cold to go out but I HAD to get out of the house. It has been "too cold to leave" for a few days now. So we ventured to the Library to pick up some more books.
Anyhow, Little K has learned the word "GO". She loves "to go". The minute I say, "should we get ready to go" she runs to the entry, grabs her coat and starts shouting "GO GO GO GO". She will even find my keys and tell me to get my "ppsss" (which is code for purse). Today I mentioned to her that we were "going" to see her buddy Calvie and his new baby sister. She hadn't even had breakfast yet and was running for the door. Half of the time, when we 'go' somewhere, she is so anxious to get home and tells me so the entire time we are out.
Well hopefully it will warm up enough to play in the snow on Saturday. K has a great plan to take the 4wheeler out and drag us on the tube. (we will see about that....)
So for now, we will continue to wear tights under our pants, 3 shirts and 4 pairs of socks.

Crafting like crazy

Saturday I made a skirt for Little K. I bought this fabric back in October and have been so excited to make something. So I got this great book from the Library that shows how to make a skirt with subjects measurements (instead of a set paper pattern). I made the layered A line and love it! I had a bunch of fabric left and thought I would tease K and tell him I would make him a tie to match. He surprisingly agreed and so I went to work looking for patterns. I couldn't find one I liked so I took an old tie apart and used that as a template. I didn't really think that he would go through with it. It is kinda dorky but they match and that is SO cute!

Also, I was able to watch my friends son while she was giving birth to her second child. (Congrats Keara!) While he was here playing, I made him this shirt. It is a new thing I learned how to do with freezer paper. Super easy and fun!

Christmas 2008

This is more of a journal entry than a Blog – feel free to skip the text and go right to the pictures. December 29, 2008

What a wonderful Christmas we had! We were supposed to fly home on Friday morning and just our luck our flight had been canceled due the weather. Then our rescheduled flight was canceled and THEN the next flight out was not until Saturday night and that would put us in phoenix after 1AM on Sunday morning. We decided to drive and with a quick trip to Walmart for a DVD player and some snacks, we were off. We left 1:00pm on Friday and drove to Wichita and stayed in a hotel, then made it to my moms house right after midnight on Saturday. Little K did pretty good. That DVD player was a life saver. 30 hours in a car seat is not fun for anyone.
Once at my moms, Little K was the center of attention and loved it. She had so many people that wanted to play with her. She was a bit shy to everyone at first but warmed up to them once they started feeding her candy (with a disapproving mom watching). We had great fun playing and hanging with my family. We went goofy golfing one night and had a blast. Little K loved picking up the balls and putting them in the hole ( I didn’t mind because she could save me a few shots)
Christmas Eve we drove up to K’s parents house. Little K’s cousin, who is 10 months older, was very anxious to play with her. He has the same sense of humor as Little K. They hardly ever fought and when they did it was pretty amusing. They are both very though kids and don’t cry over getting pushed down. Mostly he was running around and she was chasing him. I am so glad for the time that we had to spend with the family.
Christmas was great, we had Santa come visit on Christmas eve and little K was SCARED. She did not want to sit on his lap. I am so glad that we didn’t wait in the line at the mall for her to fight with us not to sit on his lap. Christmas morning was fun, she didn’t fully understand what was going on, but after a few gifts she learned that there were good things under the paper and boxes. She got a vacuum, broom and mop. ( She loves to help clean and I can take the help wherever I can get it) She got new books and lots of movies. Of course she got some clothes and her Aunt got her a super cute backpack. Her cousin got a John Deere Tractor power wheels and the 2 of them were on that thing all day long.
We got a little snow, enough to play a bit with. As you can see, Little K didn’t like to tube rides. She like riding the tractor with her cousin the most.
My in-laws got a fun new game called Blokus. I am addicted. It is a fun game for 4 people. I think I will have to get it and have Blokus nights.

(Right now, as I type this, K and his mom are doing physical therapy on his grandma. She had her knee replaces about 4 weeks ago. He is being so good with her and helping so much. It makes me realize how great of a chiropractor he will be. )
Jan 2 update** The drive home was way better than the drive out there. We left Eagar around 6pm and drove all night. Little K was asleep for the first 15 hours of the 26 it took to get home! It was good to get home but I know little K misses the attention. It was very cute, when we got home she was the happiest little girl ever. She was so excited to be home.

Playing with a barrel of monkeys.

Christmas Photos cont....

Lots of movies and books from Grandma

Fun new toy in her stocking
She would not let K get any closer than this. Notice her face is all red - I think she was holding her breath.
Playing with her cousin. This was one of their favorite things to do. They took turns pulling around the other one all night.
She took off running and tried to get in the castle - she thinks she is a Princess or something.

Trying to teach at 16 month old how to play putt-putt golf was not easy!
