We bought a membership to the zoo this year. So far we have been once a week (and even twice in one week) Little K loves it! I love it! it is a win-win! Here are a couple shots from the last couple trips. I am sure there will be more to come!

Funny story - This is our third summer going to the zoo. The first year we went only a couple times. Little K rode the "up and down" once and hated it and screamed the whole time. Last summer, she was so excited to ride it and once it started she cried and we ended on the bench. This year she wanted to ride it so I thought we could try it again. We got on and everything was great. She picked her horse and once I put her on the horse she started to get nervous. She wouldn't straddle it. So she rode side saddle! pretty sweet. Then it started to go and she freaked out.  She was so scared.

After about 4 times around I got her to kinda smile and by the end she was pretty happy and said she would like to do it again.

Kentucky Derby Hat Party Lunch

I have always wanted to have a reason to wear a big hat, a big Kentucky derby style hat. This year I decided to make a reason. I hosted a Kentucky derby Themed lunch. It was such a blast. I had planned it to be picnic style outside but the rain changed that.  We had some great food, some great laughs and some awesome hats!!!

Easter, the trip and swing set.

Kevin  found us this great swing set off craigslist.  Since we have bought it, Little K and I have been outside playing on it everyday. Sometimes multiple times in the day. It is the best 50 bucks ever spent at my house.

Crafts, projests and spring....

I am very excited for spring to come.  We had Little K's best Friend come over and play and they had such a  good time. I made special Spring cookies and they did a St. Patricks day craft. Fun times! The pictures are not moving where I want them to. Argh.) Anyway I did some shutter makeovers. I the ugly orange brown is how I bought them for $3.00 and then I painted them up and added the vinyl lettering. I pretty much love them *sigh*

Happy Birthday Darling

K is 29 today! wahooooo
I love birthdays and celebrating them and buying presents and making the cake and making a big deal. He doesn't.. SO I try to tone it down each year. This year I think I did exactly as he would have planned. No guests for cake, just the 3 of us. The presents are small and practical and the lunch was Chilean style hot dogs with homemade fries. Simple, easy and no fuss.
We will have a dance party tonight though. Little K loves loves loves to have dance parties. K is learning how to enjoy them, he mostly likes to watch Little K and I jump around like monkeys.

Philly

We are back home from a wonderful trip to my sisters house in Philadelphia. We had a blast playing in the snow. We got lots and lots while there. So much in fact that we had to stay 3 extra days because the airports closed. Here are some photos.

How to mop the floor on Sunday

Start with a sweet tooth
then search the cupboards for a treat to make
Decide on a white cake with white frosting *yummy*
Ask your toddler is she wants to help
Add eggs, oil and water and let toddler mix it all together
Be pleased with self when little spill doesn't bother you too much (it comes with toddler cooking right?)
Pour cake into glass 9x13 pan with out toddlers assistance
Toddler will get mad that she didn't pour cake
turn your back on toddler just long enough for her to push the cake batter to floor where the pan shatters
and VOILA!!!
now you must sweep and mop the kitchen floor on Sunday.
